Professor Aneel Bhangu, MBChB PhD FRCS

Aneel Bhangu is Professor of Global Surgery at the University of Birmingham and a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham. He has published over 350 research papers, has an h-index of 66, and has 19,626 academic citations. He led the UK-COVID Inquiry into colorectal cancer and has been responsible for £21M in funding applications. He has led major publications in journals including The Lancet, Lancet Infectious Disease, and BMJ. Aneel has extensive experience in peer review and has served as the British Journal of Surgery (BJS) Editor Assistant.
