About the Journal

Impact Surgery is an independent, open-access journal founded in 2023 to publish peer-reviewed research that improves surgical care worldwide. The journal accepts clinical trials, observational studies, health-systems research, technology reports, education work and policy analyses that meet ICMJE and COPE standards. Every manuscript undergoes structured editorial and external peer review. We have embraced Artificial Intelligence in our full data stack to support screening, plagiarism checks, reporting-guideline compliance, reference checks, and language editing; however, Editors make all final decisions at every stage. Initial suitability decisions are issued within 48 hours before full peer review to maintain timely, transparent communication. Articles are published under Creative Commons licences, assigned DOIs and deposited to ensure permanent, barrier-free access. Our combination of peer review, clear ethical policies, rapid workflow and immediate open dissemination is aimed to support a good author experience and ultimately benefit patients.
