Advertising and Sponsorship Policy

Impact Surgery maintains a clear separation between editorial content and commercial activities. Advertising and sponsorship do not influence editorial decisions, peer review, or the selection, evaluation, or publication of content. This policy describes the journal’s approach to advertising and sponsorship and the safeguards in place to protect editorial independence.

Editorial independence

Editorial decisions at Impact Surgery are made solely by the editorial team on the basis of scientific quality, relevance, and ethical standards. The presence or absence of advertising or sponsorship has no bearing on editorial decision-making. The publisher and any advertisers or sponsors do not have access to editorial processes and do not influence the acceptance, rejection, or content of individual manuscripts.

Advertising

Advertising, where accepted, must be clearly distinguishable from editorial content. Advertisements are not integrated into articles and do not appear in a manner that could be perceived as endorsement by the journal or its editors. The journal reserves the right to decline advertising that is misleading, inappropriate, or inconsistent with the journal’s aims, ethical standards, or audience. Advertising content is subject to review by the publisher but is not reviewed or approved by editors in relation to editorial decisions.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship of the journal, specific issues, or journal activities may be accepted provided that it does not compromise editorial independence or integrity. Sponsored content, where present, is clearly identified as such. Sponsors do not influence editorial decisions, peer review, or the content of sponsored material beyond any clearly stated and transparent role.

Transparency and disclosure

Any sponsorship arrangements are disclosed clearly and transparently. Where relevant, the role of sponsors is described so that readers can understand the nature and extent of their involvement.

Conflicts of interest

Potential conflicts of interest arising from advertising or sponsorship arrangements are managed in accordance with the journal’s Conflicts of Interest Policy. Editors and editorial board members are not involved in negotiating advertising or sponsorship agreements.
